Your Prompt: Every month this school, I have designed a Teacher of the Month magazine cover per administration’s request. The individuals selected to this cover have always been selected by other teachers, much to the chagrin of the students who have seen the covers. Here is your chance to honor your favorite teacher by creating a typographic portrait of that teacher, and later exhibiting that typographic portrait in a magazine cover honoring the teacher’s efforts in educating you.
Step 1: Your first step is to choose ONE PHS teacher you want to base your project on. It can be a current teacher or a former one. As homework, you will go take a HIGH QUALITY picture of that teacher using a camera or cell phone. While in class, however, you will open a Word document and write a paragraph (more than 5 long sentences, Kerron!) explaining why you chose that teacher, what special qualities the teacher has, and how they have made an impact on you. This paragraph is REQUIRED because you will use the text as the basis for the typographic portrait. Save the Word document to your flash drive!
Step 2: You will use the hard copy tutorial Ms. M will supply to create the typographic portion of the portrait using the picture you take of your favorite teacher. Make sure you follow ALL the tutorial steps as well as Ms. M's notes to ensure you create the portrait correctly!
